The Monty Hall Problem
Often times in math, you will be faced with a problem that you may find difficult to answer. It is during these times where we need to use our critical thinking and logical reasoning skills to help us. Lets look at the Monty Hall problem to see how we can apply these skills to problem solving.
Suppose you're on a game show, and you're given the choice of three doors. Behind one door is a car and behind the other two doors are goats. You pick a door, lets say number 3, and the host, who knows what is behind the doors, opens another door, lets say number 1, which has a goat. He then says to you, "Do you want to switch your pick to door number 2?"
Is it to your advantage to switch your choice?
